The US remains strongly engaged in Kosovo

Download picture in higher resolutionThe strong and overall support of the US for the Republic of Kosovo was reconfirmed during the meeting.
In
this respect, Vice President Biden highly assessed the leadership of
Prime Minister Thaçi in the process of Kosovos state-building and
integration in the Euro-Atlantic institutions.
In a friendly
atmosphere, Prime Minister Thaçi briefed Vice President Biden on the
current developments in the Republic of Kosovo.
The Prime
Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, expressed a high
appreciation to Vice President Biden for the crucial role that the US
has played in all the historical processes related to Kosovo, including
the recent agreements between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia.
Prime
Minister Thaçi asked Vice President Biden that the US continues to play
a decisive role and remains promoter of integration processes of Kosovo
towards Euro-Atlantic structures.
Vice President Joseph Biden
commended Prime Minister Thaçi for his leadership in taking bold and
right decisions in the interest of Kosovo. Mr. Biden assured Prime
Minister Hashim Thaçi that the US will continue to remain strongly
engaged in Kosovo and that they will call for implementation of the
agreements achieved.
Vice President Biden assured Prime
Minister Thaçi of the full US support in keeping the Kosovo leadership
on the right track, as he has done so far, and reiterated that the US
support will be constant and comprehensive. Mr. Biden also pointed out
that the US is firm in supporting the territorial integrity and the
state sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo.
As part of his
official visit to the US, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo,
Hashim Thaçi, will meet with the US Secretary of Trade, Mr. John
Bryson, tomorrow and invited by Ambassador Christopher Hill, he will
hold a lecture at the University of Denver on Monday.
Prime Minister
Thaçi is also expected to meet the United Nations Secretary General, Mr.
Ban Ki-moon in New York and other United Nations ambassadors and
congressmen from the state of New York.
