Hoxhaj and Çitaku request new European integration dynamic

Brussels, 28 February – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj and the Minister of European Integration, Vlora Çitaku continued meetings with senior representatives in Brussels.

The two ministers held a meeting with Edgars Rinkēvičs, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, who they thanked for his support up to now. They asked for the support of his state for Kosovar aspirations to integrate into the European Union.
 
The two ministers met Nicolai Wammen, Minister for European Issues in Denmark.
 
A special meeting was held with many Euro Deputies, led by the Kosovo Rapporteur, Ulrike Lunacek, Eduard Kukan, and Jelko Kacin . The two ministers thanked Euro Deputies for the European Parliament’s strong support for the Republic of Kosovo. They asked the European Parliament that the Republic of Kosovo’s European integration take on a new dynamic.
 
Minister Hoxhaj and Minister Çitaku emphasized that the Republic of Kosovo has now fulfilled many standards and necessary reforms for its European path.
 
In the meeting, Minister Hoxhaj emphasized that the Kosovo Government sees European integration as an instrument to modernize our society and to implement necessary reforms, so that Kosovo is competitive with other EU states.
 
Today, the two ministers met Tonio Borg, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta and held a meeting with the European Parliamentary Working Group for the Western Balkans, part of which are many Euro-deputies who support the Republic of Kosovo constantly, such as Euro-deputy Doris Pack etc.
 
In all these meetings, the two ministers asked that Kosovo receive a roadmap, that it sign contractual relations and start a feasibility study for a Stabilization and Association Agreement with the European Union.
 
Minister Hoxhaj and Minister Çitaku will have many meetings tomorrow with representatives of the European Union, in an attempt to get more support for Kosovo’s European agenda.
