Hoxhaj and Çitaku to hold many meetings in Brussels

Prishtina, 26 February 2012– The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosova, Enver Hoxhaj and Minister of European Integration, Vlora Çitaku traveled to Brussels where they are expected to hold many meetings with European Union representatives and representatives of EU member states.

In addition, Minister Hoxhaj and Minister Çitaku will hold dozens of meetings with foreign ministers of European Union member states. In all these meetings, they will inform officials about the reforms made by the Republic of Kosova in internal and external state-building and fulfilling necessary standards for European integration.

Minister Hoxhaj and Minister Çitaku will ask Brussels to support Kosova’s European integration process. They will request the initiation of a process for signing-up to trading relations, in the form of contractual relations between the Republic of Kosova and the European Union.

Furthermore, they will request Brussels start a feasibility study for the Republic of Kosova as soon as possible as a precondition for signing a Stabilization and Association Agreement, as the only framework for the integration of the Republic of Kosova in the European Union.

During this visit, Hoxhaj and Çitaku also will hold meetings with representatives of European institutions and representatives of political and public life in Brussels.
