It is with deep sadness that we have heard about the death of Mrs. Colvin and her colleague while on duty in the city of Homs, Syria.

Mrs. Colvin has skilfully and accurately covered events in Kosovo and other countries. She will be remembered for her bravery and compassion for the victims of war. Mrs. Colvin never hesitated to report on the cruelties committed against civilians during the war in Kosovo.

Her reports illuminated the truth and sufferings of the innocent civilians. Her work gave an extraordinary contribution in the positive journey of mankind and serves as a lamp for the work of other journalist.

We strongly condemn this act against values of journalism while hoping that the Syrian people will get their freedom very soon.

Today, Kosovo’s people and its institutions, together with its colleagues and families, are in deep sadness for the loss of a great journalist of human rights.

Enver Hoxhaj
Minister of Foreign Affairs
