Haiti’s recognition of Kosovo confirmed during Minister Hoxhaj’s visit to this state

Port-au-Prince, 10 February 2012 – In a press conference following an official meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Haiti, Laurent Lamothe, publicly confirmed Haiti’s official recognition of Kosovo’s independence.

The Republic of Haiti is the eighty-seventh (87) state to recognize Kosovo’s independence.

Recognition by this state comes at a time when the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo has intensified to the maximum attempts to conclude the process of recognition of Kosovo’s independence.

The Republic of Haiti is a Caribbean state with a territory of 27,750 kilometers square, and a population of about 9.8 million and its capital is Port-au-Prince.
