Minister Enver Hoxhaj travelled to New York

Prishtina, 5 February 2012 – Kosovo’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj, has travelled on a visit to the United States of America.

During his stay in New York, Minister Hoxhaj will conduct meetings with many American diplomats, US Senate representatives and other senior state representatives of the American administration.

Within the frames of permanent lobbying in increasing the number of recognitions for the independent and sovereign state of Kosovo, Minister Hoxhaj will also be meeting with representatives of states who have not yet recognized the independence of Kosovo.

Hoxhaj will be requesting from the representatives of these countries that they recognize the independence of Kosovo as soon as possible.

On February the 8th, Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, will be attending the regular meeting of the United Nations Security Council which will be presenting and discussing the report of the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon.

In front of the Security Council member states, Minister Hoxhaj will unfold the continued progress being achieved in Kosovo, the all-comprehensive reforms being implemented by the Kosovar institutions, as well as other aspects of Kosovo’s state consolidation.

At the UN SC, Hoxhaj will be requesting the support on dismantling and removing Serbian parallel structures from Kosovo’s north, as a prerequisite for peace and stability throughout the region.
