On this occasion, Minister Hoxhaj informed Mr. Waldner on the developments in Kosovo, on the ongoing reforms and other state building processes.

On his part, the State Secretary of Austria, Wolfgang Waldner, said that the Republic of Kosovo, the newest state in Europe, has made irreversible progress.

“The process of normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, despite all the difficulties, is moving ahead. Kosovo too is moving step by step towards the European Union,” added Waldner.

He further pointed out that Austria will continue to do everything in its power to support the Republic of Kosovo in carrying out reforms in its European path.

Talking about the end of the supervised independence process, Waldner said that Austria has been a great supporter of the Ahtisaari plan since the very beginning.

“What was baptized in Vienna can also have a successful outcome. This shows that the international community is ready to complete its supervisory mission if the necessary requirements are met,” he said.

This, according to Waldner, should be a strong stimulus for constructive cooperation in the region.
