Minister Enver Hoxhaj meets the Slovenian Minister, Samuel Žbogar

Ljubljana, 23 January 2012 – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, travelled to Slovenia where he was received in a business meeting by the Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Žbogar.

Three topics related to the bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed in this meeting; the political and state-building processes in the Republic of Kosovo as well as Kosovo’s European agenda.

On this event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, briefed his Slovenian counterpart of the preparation underway by the government of Kosovo on the visa liberalization process.

Minister Hoxhaj also asked for the Slovenian continued support on signing contractual relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Union as well as signing of the trade agreements with this institution.

Minister Hoxhaj was assured by Minister Žbogar that Slovenia will continue to help the Republic in Kosovo in the future as well with its expertise in order that Kosovo’s journey towards the European Union will be shorter.

On December 21, 2011, the European Union appointed the current Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Žbogar as the head of the EU office in Kosovo.
