Minister Hoxhaj presents ample opportunities for Japanese capital investments in Kosovo

Minister Hoxhaj also held a lecture at the Japan Institute of Foreign Affairs in front of many dignitaries, professors and students. 

While, during e meeting he had with the International Friendship Exchange Council (FEC) addressing many ambassadors, MPs and members of this council, Minister Hoxhaj launched the idea to create a friendship group between Kosovo and Japan. 

FEC President Ken Matsuzawa and Minister Hoxhaj also agreed to organize a special presentation of the state of Kosovo in Tokyo next year in an attempt to promote opportunities in Kosovo for Japanese capital investments. 

On this occasion, Minister Hoxhaj assessed that FEC would be the best coordinator of the cooperation between the people of Kosovo and of Japan. 

“Japan will invest in Kosovo. But, before this happens, we will organize a presentation in Tokyo of the state of Kosovo of the opportunities and of infrastructure that Kosovo offers for foreign investments. There will also be an economic forum organized. There is interest in investing in the fields of education, healthcare, technology, environment and agriculture,” said Hoxhaj. 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo also said that FEC will serve as a linking bridge between the Government of Kosovo and the Japanese investors. 

While, during the lecture at the Japan Institute of Foreign Affairs, Minister Hoxhaj presented the overall progress being made in the Republic of Kosovo in every aspect, with a particular focus on the continuous strengthening of the international subjectivity of the state. 

“I travel every day, I visit many states to ask for new recognitions and to advance cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and other states. In every state that I visit I meet many ministers, diplomats and citizens to show them that my country, Kosovo, is a state, that we exist and that Kosovo welcomes foreign investors,” said Hoxhaj amongst other things during the lecture. 

The Foreign Minister said that in three years, the Republic of Kosovo has built on the foundations of the state, has undertaken important reforms, while now, as Hoxhaj said, Kosovo, as a state, as economy and society is preparing for its full integration in the European Union. 

“We are a small country, but we are very rich in underground mineral assets. Energy, telecommunications, agriculture, tourism, environment and education are some fields where the Japanese investors have ample opportunities to invest,” said Hoxhaj.

Minister Hoxhaj pointed out the special relations that Kosovo has with Japan and expressed the appreciation and the will of the citizens and of the institutions of Kosovo to further advance these bonds and direct exchanges between the citizens, institutions, civil societies and cultural communities of both countries.
