Minister Hoxhaj welcomes his Swedish counterpart, Carl Bildt

Prishtina, 8 November 2011 – Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj welcomed in a meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Carl Bildt, with whom he talked about current developments in Kosovo.

On this occasion, Minister Hoxhaj thanked his Swedish counterpart for the assistance that Sweden has given to Kosovo before and since independence, assessing highly the bilateral relations between the two states.

The two ministers discussed three key issues, the deepening of bilateral relations, Euro-Atlantic integration of the Republic of Kosovo and the situation in the north of the country.
 
Talking about the north of Kosovo, the two ministers agreed that changing the borders in the Balkans is a closed chapter. Ministers Hoxhaj and Bildt emphasized the necessity and importance of a European perspective for Kosovo, and concretely, how Sweden can help Kosovo in dialogue for visa liberalization.

In addition, Minister Hoxhaj sought assistance from his counterpart for Sweden’s support in building contractual relations between the Republic of Kosovo and European Union institutions.
