Press release

Prishtina, 17 November 2017 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has noted that today, some Serbian media, later quoted by those of the Republic of Kosovo, reported that the West African state - the Republic of Guinea Bissau “has not recognized the independence of the Republic of Kosovo”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs again confirms the spirit of good relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Guinea and refers only to the official communication between the two countries, namely the Verbal Note of Recognition of this State dated 11 January 2011.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, during the high-level meetings held with the representative of this country, agreed in principle on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in order to strengthen and further expand the relations between the two countries and two nations.

The Republic of Guinea Bissau voted in favour of the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in the “International Organisation of La Francophonie”, which we are grateful for.
