Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Pacolli: The citizens of the Republic of Kosovo who want free movement have nothing to do with demarcation

Prishtina, 4 October 2017 – The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Behgjet Pacolli, hosted in a special meeting at the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the EU Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Mr Christian Danielsson.

In this meeting was discussed about visa liberalization, advancement of the European agenda for Kosovo, respectively the required national reforms, as well as regional cooperation within the Regional Economic Space.

As regards the acceleration of visa liberalization process for Kosovo, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Pacolli stressed that “The citizens of the Republic of Kosovo who want free movement have nothing to do with demarcation”, expressing the commitment that “we will do everything that in necessary to make visa liberalization possible”.

Following this meeting, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Pacolli informed the guest of the European Commission on the priorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, saying that “The dynamic government of Prime Minister Haradinaj has full commitment to regional cooperation, sustainable economic development under a new development model focusing on agriculture and aimed at stimulating the creation of new jobs”.

The EU Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Mr Christian Danielsson offered his full support in relation to these objectives, reiterating that the remaining criteria should be met. He further required for Kosovo to be a supporter of the idea of the Regional Economic Space, from which everyone can benefit.
