New York, 23 September 2017 – In the last day of his official meetings within the margins of proceedings of the United Nations General Assmebly, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Behgjet Pacolli, had a bilateral meeting his counterpart from Armenia, H.E.Mr. Eduard Nalbandyan.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pacolli, considered as positive the current level of political dialogue and communication between both countries, despite “de jure” non-recognition of Kosovo independence.

“We strongly believe that the recognition of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign country by Armenia would strengthen the stability and peace in the region and would promote the Euro-Atlantic perspective of Kosovo and the whole region” stated the First Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pacolli.

Moreover, he informed his Armenian interlocutor that “the membership of Kosovo to international organizations will remain one of priorities of foreign policy”, seeking the support of Armenia with regards to this process.

At the end of the meeting, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pacolli, requested the recognition of the passports of the Republic of Kosovo, providing arguments that 185 states have recognized the passport of our country and that this would facilitate the free movement of citizens in both sides, and would promote the economic, academic and touristic exchange.
