The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Pacolli met his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates, His Majesty, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Naya

New York, 21 September 2017 – The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Behgjet PACOLLI, in the light of meetings held in the margins of the works of United Nations General Assembly, had a special meeting with his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates, His Majesty, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Naya.

During the meeting, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Pacolli thanked his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates for his country’s systematic and constant support to Kosovo and its people throughout all the processes. Furthermore, he expressed his willingness to deepen and expand the mutual co-operation between the two countries, highlighting, in particular, the potential investments from the UAE in the field of tourism, agriculture, information technology and services.

The step taken by the Institutions of the Republic of Kosovo for abolition of visas for all citizens who are in possession of passports issued by the United Arab Emirates was mentioned as a positive sign during the meeting.

The joint organization of the Economic and Investment Forum in Abu Dhabi for the next year was considered as a concrete step toward increasing opportunities in the field of economic cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, the support to Kosovo for membership in all International Organizations was also re-confirmed.

For the purpose of deepening and expanding cooperation, the Republic of Kosovo is expected to soon open its Embassy in the United Arab Emirates.
