Mr. Hoxhaj meets the congressmen, U.S. supports Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic aspirations

Prishtina, 12 May 2017 – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, met today the United States Congress delegation staying for a visit to Kosovo.

While thanking them for the US friendship and support to Kosovo, Mr. Hoxhaj informed the congressmen about the country's progress on the Euro-Atlantic agenda and steadfast Western orientation of Kosovo.

Minister Hoxhaj spoke about bilateral relations with the United States and the role the U.S. has in building the state and strengthening the internal and international subjectivity. Both sides discussed on the US support for Kosovo for becoming part of the Partnership for Peace (PFP) within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Kosovo's top diplomat has informed congressmen about the course of normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, saying that Kosovo is committed to normalization through the dialogue mediated by international partners.

Also, Mr. Hoxhaj and the congressmen discussed on the latest developments in the region and Russia's tendency to influence the Balkans by opposing the Western states and hindering the Euro-Atlantic integration of the Balkan countries. It was also discussed about other non-Western influences in the Balkans and the fight against extremism.
