Mr. Hoxhaj meets Mr.Kotzias in Greece, towards a new chapter of cooperation

Athens, 05 May 2017 - Minister of Kosovof Foreign Affairs, Mr. Enver Hoxhaj is staying on an official visit to Greece, where he held high level state meetings..

Minister Hoxhaj met with his counterpart, Greek Foreign Minister Mr.Nikos Kotzias, with whom he talked about bilateral relations and opportunities for cooperation between Kosovo and Greece in different areas of interest of both countries.

Mr.Hoxhaj thanked Mr.Kotzi for supporting Kosovo in the Euro-Atlantic integration agenda and the membership in international organizations.

“Today in Athens I met my friend, the Foreign Minister of Greece, Mr. Kotzi where we discussed many topics of common interest and the strengthening of inter-state relations between Kosovo and Greece. We have many opportunities to co-operate as two countries. Greece is a member state of the EU, NATO, and part of Southeast Europe where Greece can play an important regional role. We also talked about Kosovo's membership in international organizations and the support that Greece can give. Our relations are excellent and what they lack, is the decision to recognize Kosovo as a state but this is the decision of a sovereign country that will happen at a certain time, "said minister Hoxhaj.

From his side, the Greek minister spoke about the topics that he spoken with Minister Hoxhaj.

“It was a great pleasure to host the Minister Hoxhaj today in Athens. We discussed the relations between our countries and the possibilities of cooperation in the service of peace and development of South East Europe ", said minister Kotzias.

Kosovo's top diplomat also held a meeting with the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and National Defence, Mr. Constantinos Douzinas, with whom they discussed the co-operation between the Kosovo and the Greek Parliament..

Mr. Hoxhaj also held a lecture at the Piraeus University in front of students and professors of Political Science.

Two days ago, Mr.Hoxhaj visited Brussels, where a group of friendships between the European Parliament and Kosovo was formed.
