Hoxhaj congratulates through the phone the Montenegrin counterpart: NATO membership guarantees security in Balkans

Prishtina, April 29, 2017 – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj held today a phone conversation with his counterpart from Montenegro, Srdjan Darmanović, where he congratulated him of the voting in the Montenegrin Parliament for membership of this country to the NATO.

Minister Hoxhaj said that Montenegro membership to the NATO is a very important step for the security and stability in the Balkans.

“Montenegro’s membership to the NATO reflects greater security for the Balkans and hits the tendencies for external anti-western influences in the Balkans. This vote of the Montenegrin Parliament is good news, not only for Montenegro, but also for Kosovo as a neighboring country, and for the stability of the region”, said Hoxhaj.

Parliament of Montenegro has voted yesterday for the country’s membership to the NATO.
