Kosovo and Egypt aimed at fostering inter-state relationsPrishtina, March 1, 2017 – The Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo has organized a lecture on the topic: “Public Diplomacy: Kosovo-Egypt Relations”. In this lecture have spoken former Foreign Minister of Egypt, Mohamed El Orabi and Ahmed El Moslemany, former adviser of the former President of Egypt, Adly Mansour, who are on an official visit to the Republic of Kosovo.
Director General of the Diplomatic Academy, Ambassador Beqir Ismaili, thanked the guests from Egypt for visiting Kosovo, appreciating highly the role of Egypt towards Kosovo. Ambassador Ismaili has singled out the contribution of Egypt during the war time 1998-1999 with aids for people of Kosovo, and for the conclusion of 11 interstate agreements after declaration of independence.
In his speech, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, currently deputy of parliament of Egypt, Mohamed El Orabi, spoke about the role of public diplomacy. He said that relations between the two countries should be reached at the highest level. El Orabi has estimated that Kosovo has made enough progress. “We have understood that there is a lot of tolerance in this country and this is what we need in the new world order”, he said.
Meanwhile, Ahmed El-Moslemany adviser to former Egypt President, Adly Mansour, said that the purpose of their visit to Kosovo is to strengthen relations between the two countries. “I will be your spokesman, wherever I am”, promised El Moslemany.
Both co-lecturers have estimated that should work jointly to establish relations between the two countries in all fields. At the lecture held at the National Library “Pjetër Bogdani” was attended by representatives of various institutions, intellectuals, representatives of various organizations and students. Egyptian delegation during the two-day visit in Kosovo has held numerous meetings with senior representatives of Kosovo institutions, civil society, etc.
