Minister Hyseni participates in the meeting of Foreign Ministers of states in the Regional Partnership and Western Balkans

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Skender Hyseni took part today in the meeting of foreign ministers of states in the Regional Partnership, which includes Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia, and foreign ministers of the Western Balkans. The meeting was held in Brdo pri Kranju, in Slovenia.

The ministers discussed issues relating to European Union expansion, border cooperation, liberalization of visas, infrastructure projects, and necessary measures for implementing reforms in the Western Balkans region and for overcoming the economic and financial crisis.

In his comments, Minister Hyseni emphasized the significance of regional partnership as an important instrument of membership in the European Union. He emphasized that the Republic of Kosovo is deeply committed to the process of integrating into the European Union. In this context, Minister Hyseni mentioned the creation and consolidation of effective institutional structures in the Republic of Kosovo as evidence of this dedication and of Kosovo’s European perspective.

In addition, Minister Hyseni emphasized the great importance of the Republic of Kosovo’s inclusion and participation in all schemes and programs of the European Union in the Western Balkans, such as liberalization of visas.

During the rest of the meeting, Minister Hyseni held a series of bilateral meetings. He had a productive and friendly meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, Mr. Michael Spindelegger. In addition, Minister Hyseni met with the Foreign Minister of Slovenia, Mr. Samuel Zbogar and the Foreign Minister of Hungary, Mr. Peter Balazs.
