Minister Hyseni requests Libya to recognize the independence of Kosovo

Kosovar Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Hyseni, today, had a special meeting with the next chairman of the UN Security Council, Libyan Ambassador to the UN, H.E. Mr. Abdurrahman Mohamed Shalgham.

Minister Hyseni has briefed on processes in Kosovo during the first year of the independence, the efforts of Kosovo institutions to accommodate the minorities and the Serbian Government support for illegal and criminal structures in the North of Kosovo. He has stressed the necessity that institutions of Serbia to give up the above-mentioned practice, to recognize the reality in Kosovo and Western Balkans and in general the aftermath of the independence declaration.
On the other hand, Libyan Ambassador to the UN, Mr. Shalgaham, has stressed that Libya is following very closely the developments in Kosovo and the region. Libya encourages countries that guarantee the sustainable security. He concluded that Libya will continue contacts with Kosovo institutions in order to get first-hand information on all developments in the terrain.
