Kosovar Foreign Minister Hyseni addressed a speech to the Pan European Group

After the meeting with the President of the European Parliament, H.E. Mr. Hans-Gert Pottering, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, H.E. Mr. Skender Hyseni has spoken before the members of the Pan European Group, during a two-day visit in Strasbourg.

In the session headed by Mr. Bernt Poselt, the Head of the Pan European Group in the European Parliament, Minister Hyseni talked about the developments in Kosovo, with specific emphasis on the safety, economy, the process of recognizing Kosovo, relations with the neighboring countries and the countries of the region, the extend and functionality of the EULEX, as well as for the European future of Kosovo.

Kosovar Foreign Minister has said that the Republic of Kosovo has managed to build most of its independent institutions in the first year of independence, which are becoming more functional every day. Further, Minister Hyseni has underlined the natural assets and human resources of Kosovo as the best foundation for its economic development. Meanwhile, he has called for the investments, from countries of the European Union and beyond, being convinced that Kosovo offers full security to the foreign investments.

Minister Hyseni informed participants about the functionality of the EULEX. “The EULEX has been extended throughout Kosovo and this is very good news. Now it should be functional with all its capacity in order to assist the Kosovo institutions on justice issues and security," said the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kosovo.

Minister Hyseni assessed the relations with neighboring countries as excellent and overwhelmed by spirit of the cooperation. He has shown the hope that, in future, the Republic of Serbia will accept the new reality in the region and will become a part of this cooperation.

The Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kosovo has pointed out the aspirations for the European future of Kosovo. Hyseni has thanked the European Union for the assistance provided and has requested to continue the assistance for Kosovo in the future, especially in its efforts to widespread the number of recognitions.

At the end of the session, Minister Hyseni has answered to some questions and interests of those present.
