Micronesia recognizes independence of Republic of Kosovo

Tonight, at around 20.00h, Micronesian permanent charge de affairs to the United Nations, Mr. Jeem Lippwe, has informed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Kosovo Mr. Skender Hyseni that Micronesia has recognized Republic of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign country.

In meantime, Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received an official letter of recognition, among others, it is said: ”The Department of Foreign Affairs is pleased to announce that the Federated States of Micronesia has joined the growing number of countries that have formally recognized Kosovo since its declaration of independence on February 17, 2008".

Micronesia is the 53rd country, the UN member, which recognizes Republic of Kosovo since its declaration of independence on February 17, 2008.
