In honour of 17 February, mountaineers from Kosovo to ‘conquer’ Mount Kilimanjaro

Prishtina, 13 February 2018 - Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Gashi, hosted the heads of 'Shkëmbi' Mountaineers Mountaineering Association led by its president Mensur Gashi, announces the ministerial statement, writes Koha.net.

In honour of the jubilee of the 10th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kosovo, five members of this association will try to conquer on 17 February 2018 the Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, more specifically, the 'Uhuru Peak' (Freedom Peak) at an altitude of 5895 meters. This sports and promotional activity is supported by the MCYS and is realized within the agenda for marking the 10th anniversary of independence. Mr Gashi was informed of the plans and details of this expedition as well as of other activities realized by the 'Shkëmbi' Association. "Our climbers' expedition for conquering the Mount Kilimanjaro is an important activity in the framework of the busy agenda for marking the 10th anniversary of Kosovo's Independence. It is an honour for our country to be promoted in Africa on this marked date", the Minister said.
