Film “Memory” of Ilirjan Himaj to be screened at two prestigious festivalsPrishtina, 6 November – “Memory”, a short film by Kosovo director, Ilirjan Himaj, is successfully continuing his journey to different international festivals.
With a touching story, the film “Memory” is to be screened in two prestigious festivals in US and England during November. The news was confirmed by Himaj for KultPlus, who also confirmed the date when the film is to be screened. “On 10 November, ‘Memory’ is to be screened as part of the official competition in the 30th edition of Virginia Film Festival to be held in Virginia – USA.
This festival will be attended by many world-renown figures and it is worth mentioning that Spike Lee and the actor nominated for Oscar and Golden Globe, William H. Macy, will participate as well”, stated Himaj, adding that ‘Memory’ is to be screened the next day in England. “On 11 November, the film will be screened as part of the official competition in the 15th edition of Cornwall Film Festival in England”, stated Himaj.
“Memory” brings the story of the old man Sylë, who has the Alzheimer disease. He leaves the house to buy a toy for his nephew. Facing the disease, cold of the winter and snowing, he cannot remember the road to get back home. The cast is composed as follows: Xhevat Qorraj, Igballe Qena, Selman Lokaj, Avdullah Gjikokaj, Besim Ajeti, Agron Krasniqi, Labinot Lajçi, Agron Shala.
So far, this film has been screened in several international festival, including the 31st Edmonton International Film Festival (Oscar qualifying), 50th Humboldt International, where it was awarded with two main prizes of the festival, namely, Best Narrative and Best of Fest Overall, 65th Columbus International Film and Video Festival, and also had the work premiere in 17th Festival Internacionale De Cine de Lanzarote. In the film “Memory”, with script and direction of Ilirjan Himaj, Director of Photography and Editor is Latif Hasollin, Producer Agron Shala, whereas Memli Kelmendi is compositor.
