Kosovo’s presentation in the Fair, a cultural affirmationPrishtina, 16 October 2017 – The visitors of the Frankfurt Book Fair this year had the opportunity to visit the stand of the youngest country in Europe, Kosovo. The stand placed by the Association of Kosovo Publishers presented 120 books and 17 publishing houses. In addition to the presentation of Kosovar literature, this year, namely in the 69th edition of the largest Book Fair in the world, five books were also promoted, reports Koha Ditore.
“Territori i Serbisë pushtuese mbi shqiptarët, 1844-1999” of Nusret Pllan was one of those books. Whereas, on Saturday, the poem collection “Atdheu im i ngrysir” of Ismail Sula and “Pergjim e fjal” of Çun Lajçi, along with the novel “Lotët e Trëndafilës” of Barbara-Burbuqe Heim and “Kosova Mon Amour”, which contains selected articles on the war in Kosovo by Klara Buda, were also promoted. After the book promotion, the documentary on the massacre of Krusha e madhe titled “Deshmite e heshtura” was displayed.
The announcement made in the official Facebook page of the “Book Fair - Prishtina” stated that the stand of Kosovo had a variety of books to offer.
“The presence of Kosovo and its stand in this fair is very important for the cultural affirmation of our young country. Kosovo’s stand, also the largest Albanian book library in Frankfurt these days, offers a variety of new publications brought especially for you” is stated in the webpage managed by the Association of Kosovo Publishers, who this year marked its 19th representation at this grand event.
Saturday, a day prior to the closing of the fair, was described as a day of many activities in Kosovo’s stand. “Today was a day of many activities. We had the pleasure of welcoming many of our compatriots, readers, writers, scholars and journalists. Kosovo, a dignified country, was represented in a dignified manner in Frankfurt” wrote AKP.
