The French Embassy brings the ballet "Ballet Preljocaj" in Prishtina

Prishtina, 28 September 2017 - The French Embassy in Kosovo, in cooperation with the National Theatre and National Ballet of Kosovo, will host an extraordinary evening of Ballet Preljocaj's performance at the National Theatre in Prishtina.

The two parts "Un Trait d'Union & Création 2017" will be staged on Saturday, October 7 at 20:00. Angelin Preljocaj, the French choreographer of Albanian origin, is today one of the most prominent artists of contemporary international dance.

His ballet will perform in Prishtina as part of an exclusive tour in Albania and Kosovo for the presentation of the world premiere of his new performance "Création 2017", presented in France on September 21, 2017. Angelin Prejlocaj was born in France in 1957, of Albanian parents.

He began studying classical ballet before turning to contemporary dance. He founded his company in December 1984. Since then he has choreographed 50 shows, ranging from solo to large format. His productions are part of the repertoire of many companies, many of whom commission original productions from him, such as La Scala of Milan, New York City Ballet and the Pris National Opera Ballet.

Today Ballet Prejlocaj consists of 24 dancers and is located at Pavillon Noir in Aix-en-Provence since October 2006, a place devoted entirely to dancing, with Angelin Prejlocaj as artistic director. With the support of Teatroscope in the framework of FranceDanse Orient-Express, i.e.

Teatroscope is a program initiated by the French Institute, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. A press conference will be held on Friday, October 6, at 13:00 at the National Theatre in Prishtina.
