Majlinda, the Best Female Judoka Today

Prishtina, 28 August 2017 - If there was any doubt, from Sunday evening there is no more: Majlinda Kelmendi is the best judoka in the world. Not only of the category of up to 52 kilograms but the world's best in general.

On Sunday evening on the Gala Evening organized in Budapest in honor of the 65th anniversary of the International Judo Federation (IJF), Majlinda has received the greatest possible prize for an active Judoka, “Best Female Judoka Today”, reports “Koha Ditore”.

Majlinda was competing for this award with Urantsetseg Monkhbatyn of Mongolia and with Clarisse Agbegnenou of France. As expected, the Kosovar judoka was awarded Best Female Judoka Today. The Mongolian judoka has one world championship title and a world championship bronze medal as well as two Asian championship titles and four continental medals. The French judoka has one silver medal, one gold medal and two silver medals at world championships, and two European championship titles.

Meanwhile, Majlinda is significantly more successful. She has one Olympic title, two world championship titles and three European championship titles. It is only the second time that IJF announces the best judoka. It first announced the best judoka in 2011, in the celebrations of its 60th anniversary.
