Kosovar Remzije Sherifi nominated for "Woman of the Year 2017" award in Scotland

Prishtina, 25 August 2017 - The nominations of Scottish Women's Awards have been published, and among many famous Scottish women, in the charity category, is also the name of Remzije Sherifi, who lives and works for many year now in Glasgow, writes KultPlus.

Even Remzije Sherifi herself stated to be honored for this nomination, and stated that she feels privileged to be nominated for her work in charity. Meanwhile, the grand finale of this prestigious award will be held on 30th of August.

Remzije Sherifi is from Gjilan, and she went to Scotland in 1999, when she was evacuated from a camp in Macedonia. Until 1992, Remzije worked as a radio-journalist and producer, until she was dismissed from this job.

In Scotland she has shown to be successful in leading the ‘Maryhill Integration Network’, which deals with the implementation of health, education, arts and dance programs aiming to bring communities closer to each other. Her work in Scotland has been appreciated even before, as she was nominated for this prestigious award in the past years too.
