The film "Shok (Friend)" takes its first step towards the "Oscar"

Prishtina, 10 December 2015 - The film "Shok" has achieved to be among ten selected films for this year in the category "Best Live Action Short Film", by "Academy Awards", which marks its 88th edition. These 10 films were selected from a list of 144 films, and ten of them are to be competing for five films to be nominated later for "Oscar". Nominations will be known on 14 January next year.

This was made known through "Facebook" by the director of the Kosovo Cinematographic Centre, Arben Zharku. The film "Shok", directed by Jamie Donoughue from England, has focused on lives of two children, who during the war were persecuted by the Serbian forces in Kosovo; meanwhile, up today, this award is the eleventh for this film. It was rewarded, as well,  in many other film festivals. "Shok" is supported by Kosovo Cinematographic Center, whereas during twenty one minutes, the total length this movie, are involved the following actors: Lum Veseli, Andi Bajgora, Melihate Qena, Luan Kryeziu, Astrit Kabashi, Xhevdet Jashari, Armond Morina, Aurita Agushi, Sunaj Raça, Eni Cani, Kushtrim Sheremeti, Fisnik Ademi, Besnik Krapi and Ardit Tahiri. In addition, Lum Veseli and Andi Bajgora have won awards for "best actors" in international festivals.

Film shootings took place during the last year in Mitrovica, meanwhile, its producer, Eshref Durmishi, who depicts the role of Dushan, has emphasized that through images in this film is presented a part of the journey of Albanians during the recent war in Kosovo.
