The Kosovo born soprano Besa Llugiqi in the leading role in Bulgarian opera

Prishtina, 3 December 2015 – The Kosovo born soprano Besa Llugiqi, will have the leading role in “Lucia di Lammermoor”, three-act tragic opera of Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti. This event will be placed at the stage of Bulgarian theater which has a 90-years old history and the host will be Opera House of Stara Zagora.

On Saturday night, Llugiqi will debut in the role of Lucia from Lammermoor which was the leading in the opera staged for the first time in Napoli's “Teatro San Carlo” in 1835. Llugiqi, with whom the Bulgarian audience is already familiar, after performances in “Rousse State Opera” in Ruse, is about to finalize the preparations for opera, directed by Ognian Draganov.

The Conductor is Ivalo Krincev and soloists are Dessislava Stefanova, Yanica Nesheva, Valery Turmanov, Ivan Kabamitov, Daniel Damyanov, Milko Mihailov and others. "The role indented to be performed this Saturday is the first role as Lucia di Lammermoor. It is very hard role to be interpreted in all interpretive aspects. It is a highly demanding role with huge technical difficulties", said Llugiqi.
