Tom Hanks in a Kosovar movie?

During a visits a few weeks ago in Berlin, Kosovo’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj, met with the famous Hollywood actor, Tom Hanks.

The meeting took place at a time when Tom Hanks was showing the premiere of his most recent movie “Larry Crowne” in which Hanks, apart from the main role, has also be directing and wrote the screenplay of the movie.

“Three weeks ago, Kosovo’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj, had a meeting with the famous Hollywood actor, Tom Hanks. In this meeting, Minister Hoxhaj asked Hanks to visit Kosovo as soon as possible. Hanks welcomed the invitation of Minister Hoxhaj and noted that he will visit the Republic of Kosovo very soon”, said for Express Artan Behrami, political advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj.

According to Behrami, during this meeting the Minister discussed with Hanks the possibility of cooperation between the actor and Kosovar actors and directors for a possible major film project.

Otherwise, according to Behrami, they also discusses on the possibilities which Kosovo provides on engaging on a major film project.

“Countries such as Kosovo have a lot of stories, narrations, stories of people who have endured sufferings at different time periods, which, for international actors and directors may serve as an inspiration for movie projects”, states Behrami.

According to the Minister’s advisor, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo is working hard on promoting Kosovar art and culture into the international arena.

“Normally this will happen with the cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, with artists and Kosovar directors. We will be supporting many projects whose aim is to promote Kosovar culture and art” stated Behrami for Express.

Tom Hanks is one of the most famous actors of Hollywood.

Hanks has already collected two Oscar prizes and 57 other cinematographic prizes. Among his role, his best characters appeared in the movies “The Green Mile” (1999), “Saving Private Ryan” (1998), “Forrest Gump” (1994) and “The Da Vinci Code” (2006).

His most recent movie which premiered these days both in the U.S and in Europe is also a top hit. In “Larry Crowne” movie he plays character of a real estate agent who loses his job and returns to college. The well-known American actress, winner of a number of prizes, Julia Roberts, also play alongside him in this movie.
