Eighth edition of Nine Eleven starts
On 11 September 2001 a friend of mine happened to be in the vicinity of Twin Towers. He saw a plane crash onto the buildings, and everything looked incomprehensible. However, he knew that something bad was happening and he did not stun but provided aid to dying people. He is a hero to me, said Paul Engilson from the United States Embassy in Kosovo. Englison was the chosen the person to thank as he put it the Kosovars for showing their love for the Americans.
Meanwhile, the Festival director, Blerim Gjoci chose not to speak as he was behaving stressfully at the entrance of the hall, while board member Skënder Boshtrakaj spoke on behalf of Nine Eleven. Happy that this festival produces eight movies every year and that over 70 such movies have competed so far in 60 festivals. Boshtrakaj said that this is the biggest pride of dedication for America.
This festival started as a dedication, but now it has become the main supporter of young producers and actors. A supporter of the arts people, he said. Veton Firzi, permanent secretary at the Ministry of Culture also spoke about the festival. He said he is honored that the institution for which he works has supported the festival as, from this festival more and more cinematographic qualitative works are coming every year. This year there are 18 movies in the competition.
The festival jury this year is composed of internationally recognized actors like: Dan Webster, Victoria Lucaj, Gonxhe Boshtrakaj, Einat Tubi, Jon Smibert and Eol Çashku. The works of cartoonist Nexhat Krasniqi Nekra will also be presented at the festival. The Short Film Festival will finish on 11 September when the prizes will be awarded. /koha/
