“Shota” excels in Ohrid jubilee festival

The 50th jubilee of this festival was coupled with another 50-year jubilee, that of the creation and operationalization of the State Ensemble “Shota” which has affirmed the ethno-musical and ethno-choreographic Albanian opus in particular and the Albanian ethnic culture in general throughout the world.

Taking the stage of the "Sarajit të Poshtëm" following the performance by ensembles "Romanosul" from the city of Kluj Napoka, Romania,  and the "Rovnan" ensemble from Velike Rovne, Czech Republic, the “Shota” ensemble concluded the fourth night of the festival and amazed with a splendid performance.

The "Shota" Ensemble has participated in many world festivals and has been honored with many prizes and also this time its performance was at a high artistic level in their presentation of the ethno-choreographic culture of all the Albanian territories, from Karadak to Opoje, with choreographic slots prepared for stage by choreographs Xhemajl Berisha and Sulejman Shala with the assistance and engineering of rehearsal pianist, Nazmi Demaj.

An outstanding performance by the “Shota” Ensemble with ten (10) stage couples swarmed the scene with various choreographic figures, with some very lovely twists rarely seen on stage. The members of this Ensemble with their flowing moves, with their presentations and messages on stage made some elderly spectators fail to hold back tears of joy.

At the end of the “Shota” performance, the Ensemble Director, Dilaver Kryeziu, thanked the organizers and the wonderful and multiethnic audience while the head of the Cabinet of the Minister of Culture and political advisor, Jeohona Shyti, gave the festival director, Dragana Boceska, the emblem of the “Shota” Ensamble marking the 50th anniversary of its operation (KosovaSot)
