Kosovo and Switzerland sign the agreement for transferring convicted persons

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Hajderin Kuçi and the Swiss Ambassador to Kosovo, Krystyna Marty, signed this agreement, which falls on the area of international legal assistance on criminal matters.

After signing the agreement, Minister Kuçi stated that Kosovo and Switzerland have excellent relations and added that they have opportunities of further developing the cooperation in the economical, political and other fields.

Deeming this agreement as very important for both countries in terms of international legal assistance on criminal matters, Minister Kuçi said: “We have a large number of people travelling between the two states, we have good relations and we reached the conclusion that we should cooperate in this field which pertains to the transfer of convicted persons”.

On the other hand, Ambassador Krystyna Marty stated that Switzerland and Kosovo now have a successful cooperation in the field of justice and this agreement signed today enables that people convicted in Switzerland may serve their conviction in their own country. According to her, this agreement is an example for cooperation in other areas, too.
